Alright, first I'll start off with an apology. I'm always annoyed when I go to check up on a blog and they haven't updated it in a month...well, I didn't realize that it had been almost 2 months for me!! Sorry (to the 5 people that visit my blog ;) ).
Well, our dear Zachary is now 4!! I can't believe what a big boy he is. All of a sudden he looks taller, smiles more, occasionally busts a move and he cracks us up all the time with his crazy conversations!
A while ago (when Barbie and the magic of Pegasus was still big in our house) Zac and I were butting heads. Now, this isn't anything new... I'm sure most mothers of (then) three years old have this issue from time to time. After a long stretch of time outs for both of us Zac walked up to me slowly with this sweet, sorry look on his face. He started with a slow "Mom, I'm so sorry!" My heart started to melt...until he finished with:
"I'm sorry I lost your money, I just couldn't face you after that. That's why I've been living in the forbidden forest"
Yup! he apologized with a quote from a Barbie movie!
Josh and I struggle with keeping the boys in their own beds at night. If they aren't trying to sneak into our beds they are asleep on the hardwood floor beside our bed (where they are usually stepped on), on the laundry pile in the hallway, in front of heat vents...and the list goes on. A few weeks ago I was tossing and turning in bed. I couldn't get comfortable and I was sure it was Josh who had his elbow in my back. So, I was nudging him to move out of the way but he wouldn't budge. All of a sudden I hear this "annoyed" little voice say "ARGH! I'll go sleep in my OWN bed!" and off Zac marched.
Now, Zac LOVES movies, particularly Harry Potter movies. Last Saturday we had Zac's birthday party (a week late because he was sick for his birthday). He and Jacob were playing in his room when all of a sudden we heard Zac yelling "MY DAD'S NOT A DRUNK!! HE'S NOT!! HE'S NOT A DRUNK!!" followed by Jacob saying "I didn't say he was...what are you talking about?" Josh went down there to find out what was going on. He was (at random) quoting the 2nd or 3rd Harry potter where Harry screams that at his Aunt before she blows up like a balloon and floats away.
I'm sure he'll keep us laughing with more Zac-isms in the year to come. We sure love our sweet 4 year old and look forward to leaving the crazy toddler years behind us and watching him learn and grow. Today he starts his first day of Karate. He was pretty excited last week to meet his new teacher. He kept asking if she was his new Kung Fu Master? (it's Tae Kwon Do (spelling?)). We've been watching a lot of Kung Fu Panda lately.
